Islamabad: The United States this week resumed regular consular operations at its consulates in Lahore and Karachi, restoring visa processing and services for American citizens following a temporary suspension.
In a statement, the US Mission in Pakistan announced that the US Consulate General in Lahore has reopened for US Citizen Services, while the US Consulate General in Karachi has resumed both US Citizen Services and non-immigrant visa processing.
The mission described the move as a restoration of normal consular operations and advised applicants seeking visas or consular assistance to schedule appointments through the official US Embassy website for further information on available services.
The reopening follows a temporary disruption to services at the two consulates due to heightened security concerns earlier this year.
The resumption of regular operations is expected to ease access to routine consular assistance for American citizens in Pakistan while enabling visa applicants to resume non-immigrant visa processing at the Karachi consulate.
