Germany vows to further strengthen cooperation with Pakistan in education, sustainable development

Islamabad: Germany this week reaffirmed its commitment to deepening cooperation with Pakistan across key sectors including education, sustainable development, cultural exchange, and economic engagement.

The assurance was conveyed by German Ambassador to Pakistan Ina Lepel during a meeting with Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad.

During the meeting, Minister Ahsan Iqbal underscored Pakistan’s strong interest in expanding collaboration with Germany in higher education, faculty development, research partnerships, scholarships, and academic exchange programmes aimed at strengthening human capital.

He also invited German cooperation in promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan, welcoming Germany’s expertise in tourism planning and institutional development.

Ambassador Ina Lepel appreciated Pakistan’s ongoing reform agenda and development priorities, and reiterated Germany’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in education, sustainable development, cultural exchanges, and economic cooperation.
