Khyber Pakhtunkhwa allocates Rs 10 billion for China-made electric bus service in Hazara

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government has allocated Pakistani Rs10 billion in its provincial budget for the launch of a modern China-made electric bus service linking Haripur, Abbottabad and Mansehra, in a move expected to transform public transportation and promote environmentally sustainable mobility across the Hazara region.

Provincial Minister for Communications and Works Akbar Ayub Khan announced the development this week, describing the project as a landmark initiative that fulfilled a key commitment made to the people of Hazara Division and reflected the government’s determination to modernize transport infrastructure.

The proposed electric bus network, featuring procured Chinese-manufactured vehicles, is expected to provide safe, affordable and environmentally friendly transportation facilities to thousands of daily commuters traveling between the three districts.
