Aseefa Bhutto distributes home ownership certificates to flood-affected women

Islamabad: First Lady and Member of the National Assembly Aseefa Bhutto Zardari visited Mirza Farrukh Beg village in Taluka Daur, Shaheed Benazirabad district this week, where she handed over home ownership certificates to women beneficiaries of the Sindh People’s Housing Project—hailed as the world’s largest free housing initiative.

Accompanied by Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho, Aseefa visited newly constructed homes built for flood-affected families. The initiative is part of a broader rehabilitation program launched by the Sindh government to provide permanent shelter and dignity to those displaced by devastating floods.

Speaking directly with the female recipients, Aseefa said: “I have come on behalf of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to give you these ownership certificates. Today, you have a roof that is your own.” She added emotionally, “This is the fulfillment of a promise made by my grandfather, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.”

During her visit, several female homeowners shared their experiences, concerns, and feedback regarding the housing scheme. Officials also briefed her on the steps being taken to resolve the issues raised by the residents.
