Islamabad: Former Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik stood vindicated as Cynthia Dawn Ritchie withdrew her petition against him.
The Islamabad High Court dismissed the petition after it was withdrawn by the petitioner.

Senator Rehman Malik had already won the case twice from the Justice of Peace referred by the Islamabad High Court. Legally no appeal can be filed against the decision of Justice of Peace.
Senator Rehman Malik had also filed a writ petition in the Islamabad High Court for a counter First Information Report as per the advice of his legal team and he has also withdrawn his petition which was tagged with the petition of Cynthai Ritchie.

The lawmaker’s petition had nothing to do with the trial in Justice of Peace where Senator Rehman Malik was exonerated honourably from the charge of assault. Senator Rehman Malik was not available for his comments.
Earlier, the Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator Rehman Malik had decided not to pursue criminal and civil cases against Cynthia Dawn Ritchie after his vindication from the competent court from alleged charges.
He announced it after his complete exoneration from the fake, fabricated and malicious charges of rape by Cynthia Dawn Ritchie. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader in his tweets publicly announced that he will not pursue the pending criminal and civil cases against her in good faith.

Senator A. Rehman Malik in his statement stated as under: “I with humble nature do not claim victory as it is evident that the lady in question being under pressure from inimical elements was forced into levelling these insinuations against me. I therefore, in good faith and moreover, because I honor women and their dignity, regardless of this matter, would not like to pursue this matter further as I have every reason/ proofs to believe that Cynthia Ritchie must have levelled these bogus allegations at the behest of influential elements having nefarious designs to malign me & the top political leadership of our country including first elected lady PM Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto. I have decided not to consider for revenge in good faith & I leave this issue to my Allah, to Whom I’m grateful for vindicating my position before my Family, Friends & PPP leadership and Parliament.”
