Aseefa Bhutto set to enter parliamentary politics

Islamabad: The top leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) including are likely Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Ms Faryal Talpur to make a decision within few days about the constituency from where Aseefa Bhutto Zardari is expected to contest the by-elections to start her parliamentary journey.

Ms Bhutto has reportedly two options to contest the polls either from Qambar- Shahdadkot constituency, from where her elder brother Bilawal-Bhutto was elected to the National Assembly and then vacated that seat while retaining his Larkana constituency seat.

Also, she might contest the by-polls from Shaheeed Benazirabad district from where her father Asif Ali Zardari was elected as an MNA. Zardari would vacate that seat after he was all set to run the polls for the post of President of Pakistan.

Here it may be recalled Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari won the polls from both constituencies with heavy margins of votes.

It may be noted that in the past, Ms Benazir Bhutto had also contested elections from the same Qambar- Shahdadkot constituency. In the recent elections, Aseefa Bhutto participated in the campaign of her brother and started practical politics but after winning the by-elections, she would officially start her parliamentary politics.
