Islamabad: Prominent leader of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Aseefa Bhutto Zardari this week urged for national unity amid economic crises.
The daughter of President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto (late) expressed concern that the budget falls short of providing the necessary relief to those struggling the most.
“We need to focus on easing the burden on ordinary citizens and empowering our farmers. The Pakistani people deserve more supportive measures, and it’s our duty to work collectively to bring about positive change,” she said.
Aseefa Bhutto underscored the critical need for solidarity during a period marked by deep ideological rifts and social strife.
“In times when our society is torn by ideological differences, and when dissent is met with hostility, it’s vital for us, as representatives, to come together and address these pressing issues,” she said.
Calling for more than just rhetoric, Aseefa Bhutto advocated for concrete actions to promote tolerance and inclusivity.
“We must transcend mere words and take decisive steps to counter divisive politics. Our priority should be to unite for the benefit of our citizens and seek practical solutions to provide them with relief,” she asserted.
“Harnessing our collective human resources towards development and direct aid to the underprivileged should be our focus. I look forward to witnessing a new political era.”
Aseefa also highlighted the plight of Sindh, particularly the extensive power outages exacerbating the region’s hardships.
“Unity is crucial, as emphasized by the President. Blaming each other won’t solve anything. Amid this intense heat, enduring power cuts of up to 20 hours in Sindh is unbearable,” she said.
