Pakistan and Italy have agreed to broaden and diversify bilateral relations, particularly in the field of economic cooperation.

This was stated by Ambassador of Italy Andreas Ferrarese while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad.

The Ambassador said that two sides agreed to establish a joint framework to deal with climate change and cooperation, water management to deal with climate change.

Pakistan and Italy have cordial relations. They have been cooperating in a number of areas, including trade, investment, education, and culture, he added.

Trade: Italy is the 12th largest export market for Pakistan and the 10th largest import source. In 2021, the total trade between the two countries was worth $2.2 billion.

Investment: Italy is a major investor in Pakistan. As of 2022, Italian companies have invested over $2 billion in Pakistan.

Education: There are over 10,000 Pakistani students studying in Italy. Italy also offers scholarships to Pakistani students to study in Italian universities.

Culture: There are strong cultural ties between Pakistan and Italy. There are Italian cultural centers in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Pakistan also participates in the annual Venice Biennale, a major international art exhibition.
