Ambassador Lis Rosenholm lauds services of Ambassador Androulla Kaminara

Islamabad: Ambassador of Denmark in Pakistan Lis Rosenholm this week lauded the services of Androulla Kaminara, the Ambassador of European Union in Pakistan as she nears her retirement.
“Thank you for leading team Europe and being a great colleague,” Ambassador Lis Rosenholm tweeted reply to a post on Twitter by Androulla Kaminara.
The EU ambassador earlier wrote on Twitter: “As I prepare for my retirement, I salute and thank my closest collaborators- the 16 ambassadors of the EU Members States which I had the pleasure and honour to work with. Friendships that will last.”
Androulla Kaminara – born 29 April 1957 – is a European civil servant from Cyprus who as of march 2022 is serving as the Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Pakistan.
As such, she is the first women ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan. Before her appointment in the European External Action Service, she joined the European Commission in 1991, where she has served in various Directorates General, including those dealing with technology, communications, development cooperation, international relations, and humanitarian aid.
Ambassador Kaminara has held a number of high-level positions at the European Commission including five years as Director for Africa, Asia, Latin America, Caribbean and Pacific in the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), and Principal Adviser and Head of the Task Force “Knowledge, Performance and Results” in the Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development from 2014 to 2016.
She has served as a member of Cabinet in the offices of two European Commissioners with portfolios in development cooperation and energy and small and medium-sized enterprises policy respectively.
