Astana: Kazakhstan has expressed its desire to further deepen strategic ties with Pakistan, with a particular focus on expanding cooperation in politics, trade and economy, transport and logistics, security and coordination at international forums.
Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev conveyed the message in a statement marking Pakistan’s Independence Day, underscoring the importance his country attaches to its longstanding friendship and strategic partnership with Islamabad.
“Kazakhstan highly values its strong friendship and strategic partnership with Pakistan,” Kosherbayev said, reaffirming his country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations across multiple sectors.
He said Kazakhstan intended to continue expanding cooperation with Pakistan in the political and economic spheres, while placing particular emphasis on transport and logistics and security cooperation.
The Kazakh foreign minister also called for stronger coordination between the two countries within international organisations, reflecting their shared interest in closer multilateral engagement and greater cooperation on regional and global issues.
Kosherbayev highlighted what he described as Pakistan’s growing diplomatic role on the international stage, praising Islamabad’s constructive contribution to addressing international challenges and promoting regional stability.
He expressed confidence that continued cooperation between the two countries would further elevate Kazakhstan-Pakistan relations and contribute to the prosperity of their peoples.
“I firmly believe that our joint efforts will continue to help take Kazakhstan-Pakistan relations to a new level and ensure the further prosperity of our peoples,” he said.
The statement reflects growing interest in strengthening Pakistan’s ties with Central Asian states, with Kazakhstan emerging as an important partner in areas including trade, connectivity and regional transport corridors.
For Pakistan and Kazakhstan, enhanced transport and logistics cooperation carries particular significance as both countries seek to improve connectivity between South Asia and Central Asia and expand economic links across the wider region.
The renewed emphasis on bilateral cooperation also comes as Islamabad and Astana seek to broaden their strategic partnership beyond traditional diplomatic engagement and develop stronger economic and institutional links.
