FM Jilani advocates global collaboration and partnership at EU India Pacific ministerial forum

Islamabad: Jalil Abbas Jilani, the Caretaker Foreign Minister, this week emphasized the need to move beyond divisive bloc politics and great power competition in today’s interconnected world.
He conveyed these sentiments during a session on ‘Shared Prosperity, Economic Resilience, and Investment’ at the EU India Pacific Ministerial Forum in Brussels.
Jalil Abbas Jilani highlighted the importance of close cooperation and multidisciplinary international partnerships to effectively address global challenges. He discussed various topics, including Pakistan-Europe relations, the impact of climate change on Pakistan, fair distribution of green energy, Pakistan-China relations, and Pakistan-Afghan relations.
Referring to the European Union as the pioneer of free trade globally, the caretaker foreign minister described it as an integral part of globalization. He outlined a three-phase approach in outlining the future path of global partnership, emphasizing cooperation, and multi-disciplinary partnerships to tackle global challenges.
This approach includes the development of international digital collaboration hubs and mechanisms to combat climate change, along with South-South triangular cooperation.
