Pakistan, UK reaffirm commitment to enhance cooperation in diverse fields

The British High Commissioner to Pakistan Ms Jane Marriott, called on Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani in Islamabad on Friday.
During the meeting, the High Commissioner congratulated Jalil Abbas Jilani on assuming the office of the Foreign Minister.
They also discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, climate change and people-to-people contacts. The two sides also exchanged views on promotion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking on the occasion, Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani expressed his best wishes to the British High Commissioner over his appointment in Pakistan.
The first female British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane was the High Commissioner to Kenya from September 2019, prior to her appointment in Islamabad.
In this role she delivered a new UK-Kenya strategic partnership, strengthening ties across mutual prosperity, sustainable development, security and stability, people to people links and tackling climate change.
