Pakistani, Chinese universities sign agreement to promote cooperation

Sargodha: University of Sargodha and Tang Chinese Education & Technology Ltd this week inked an agreement to promote cooperation in academic, educational and cultural spheres.

According to UoS, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed at University of Sargodha. The agreement was duly signed by Additional Director Office of the Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) University of Sargodha Dr. Anjum Murtaza, and Director & Executive President of Tang Pakistan Max Ma.

The agreement is aimed at imparting effective training, quality assessment, certification to the manpower for local economic zones and CPEC Industries & Special Economic Zones (SEZs) by launching CCTE Model Sino-Pak Dual Diploma Vocational & Technical Joint Education Program.

Vice Chancellor UoS Professor Dr Qaisar Abbas said, “This partnership will connect Sargodha University with top Chinese Universities and Vocational Institutes. It will also bring forward opportunities of joint degree programs, and vocational & faculty training, and Chinese Language programs as well.”

Director and Executive President of Tang Pakistan Max Ma maintained that there were several hi-end technologies through CCTE Model Modern China-Pakistan dual Diploma Joint Technical Education Program in which the university could start three-year Associate Degree Programs.

“Under this program, students will acquire theoretical knowledge at Sargodha University and a year-long practical training from Chinese universities while a dual degree will be awarded after completion,” he added.

According to the agreement, the two sides will also carry out in-depth cooperation in the development of information-based vocational, technical courses and the introduction and certification of China’s vocational education standards.

Max Ma mentioned that both parties also agreed to make efforts to establish a Model Industrial Unit for value addition to the citrus export in a triparty framework, including Tang, UoS and Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
