Pakistan misses Senator Rehman Malik

Islamabad: Amid the political deadlock in the country, Pakistan is missing the late Senator Rehman Malik who used to play a positive role in such situations.
The late Senator, on a number of times proved his skills by resolving political issues. He was a man to whom Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) supremo Asif Ali Zardari looked up to.
Senator Rehman Malik passed away about one year ago due to covid-19 related complications. He was 70 years old at the time of his death.
The former Interior Minister had an incredibly impressive and astounding career. Prior to joining politics, he worked for a number of government departments. He first gained prominence when he was appointed as the Additional Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency.
Later, he became a senior leader in the PPP and a close associate of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and former President Asif Ali Zardari.
He served as the Interior Minister of the country from 2008 until 2013, and was then appointed to the Senate.
Throughout his impressive career and astounding public service, the former Interior Minister always went the extra mile to look after the citizens and refugees living in Pakistan. An example of this is illustrated by the social media post by Tim Walker below.
Another example of Senator Rehman Malik’s charitable and selfless nature is the Institute of Research and Reforms, which is now run by his two sons: Ali Rehman Malik and Umar Rehman Malik.
The Institue of Research and Reforms has been at the forefront when it comes to attending to the needs and difficulties of citizens and refugees living in Pakistan.
