Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese attends joint sitting of parliament

Islamabad: Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan Andreas Ferrarese this week attended the joint sitting of the parliament which was addressed by the President Arif Alvi.

The always well-dressed envoy looked prominent in the guest gallery as the President started the new parliamentary year.

Foreign diplomats of various countries posted in Pakistan also attended the joint sitting of the parliament as guests.

Under a constitutional obligation, the president addresses the joint sitting of the parliament at the beginning of a parliamentary year.

The 15th National Assembly witnessed the fifth and last presidential address to the Parliament under clause (3) of Article 56 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The session was also attended among others by officials of Armed Forces.

Speaking to Covert after attending the session, Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese said he was delighted to be a part of the important democratic event in Pakistan.

“Italy and Pakistan are great friends and it is always an honour to participate in such events. I really enjoyed my time in the parliament,” he maintained.

Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese recalled that he had participated in many Pakistani events dedicated to different dates in the calendar. “Italy is a supporter of Pakistan and we wish to see it growing,” the envoy remarked.
