China-funded ‘Silk Road Clinical Research Center’ inaugurated UHS

Lahore: Pakistan Punjab Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid here this week inaugurated the ‘Silk Road Clinical Research Center’ at the University of Health Sciences (UHS) with funding from the Chinese government.
Speaking on the occasion, the Health Minister said that UHS played an important role in research, adding that continuous work on research was a positive development at the University of Health Sciences.
She informed that the Punjab government had vaccinated around 80 million people in Punjab, adding that the Reach Every Door (RED) campaign was also in full swing.
She maintained that the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) played a pivotal role in keeping people updated about the latest developments during the coronavirus epidemic.
Dr.Yasmin Rashid mentioned that the coronavirus pandemic affected the entire planet and Pakistan’s strategy of smart lockdowns was appreciated the world over. “Punjab is running the world’s largest Thalassemia prevention program at Fatima Jinnah Medical University”, she added.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Javed Akram, Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani (retd), faculty members, and Chinese experts were present at the ceremony.
