Gujar Khan: British High Commission Heads of Communications and Public Diplomacy Fauzia Younis spent the Eid in her native village here.
The area is known as Village Kanyal. Many from this village have migrated to the United Kingdom.
“Spending Eid in Potohari heartlands this year in Gujarkhan. Wishing everyone a dilli #EidMubarak,” she tweeted from her native village.
Then she tweeted a picture of a banyaytree. “Always had a fascination with the ‘Bohr’ tree as there used to be one in my grandfather’s village. Spotted one in Islamabad today on my walk. Protect our nature so our future generations can enjoy what we do today,” she said.
In English, she said, “it’s called a Banyan tree. Providing chaam to musafir for millennia (shade to the passengers). Kya kya stories hai in trees kai paas (how many stories this stories is witness to),”
