Islamabad: Outgoing European Union Ambassador Riina Kionka this week shared a heartfelt farewell message, marking the end of what she described as “a journey of meaningful partnerships and friendships.”

In a post on X, she thanked the people of Pakistan for their hospitality and kindness throughout her posting. She wrote: “Though I say Khuda Hafiz,” but “a piece of Pakistan will forever remain in my heart.”

Her departure marks the conclusion of a diplomatic chapter characterized by strengthened EU-Pakistan relations, collaborative development efforts, and cultural exchange.

Over the course of her tenure, the Ambassador played a pivotal role in fostering dialogue on trade, women empowerment, climate resilience, education, and human rights.
