Pakistan’s economy hinges on stability, security: Mushahid

Islamabad: Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said this week that political stability and security are vital for boosting economy of this country.
Improved security conditions and political stability are crucial for attracting foreign investment in this part of the region, he said in an interview.
“In the past, our security operations, like Zarb-e-Azb, Radd-ul-Fasaad and Rah-e-Nijat had been successful due to political support of the governments,” he said adding that Azm-e-Istehkam could achieve the results if the political parties and stakeholders fully cooperate with the incumbent government.
Replying to a question about the achievement of the last operations, he said that in the Army Public School (APS) tragic incident, the then prime minister, Mian Nawaz Sharif, called a meeting of all political parties to formulate a National Action Plan (NAP) to launch the action against the miscreants and terrorists, he added.
After the NAP implementation and political support, the valiant Pakistan Jawan’s, law enforcement agencies, security institutions and civil organizations had made tremendous success in war against terrorism, he said.
Commenting on BRICS, he hoped that after the inclusion of Pakistan in BRICS nations, we could address all the issues being face by many countries.
To another question, he said that Russia is keen to expand economic, diplomatic and business relations with Pakistan.
