High Commissioner Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri joins late Pakistani national’s family at remembrance ceremony

Canberra: Pakistani High Commissioner to Australia Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri this week joined the late Pakistani national Zeeshan Akbar’s family at a remembrance ceremony.

“Zeeshan Akbar, a Pakistani national who was stabbed to death at a Caltex outlet just outside Canberra in April 2017 during a robbery by two teens, remains in our thoughts and prayers. Joined Zeeshan’s family and friends at a remembrance ceremony,” the envoy posted on X with a picture.

The killers have been jailed for murdering the Queanbeyan service station attendant during the “violent and uncontrolled criminal rampage.”

Zeeshan Akbar was stabbed to death at a Caltex outlet just outside Canberra in April 2017 during a robbery by two teens, who were aged 15 and 16 at the time. The youths, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty.
