Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Umar Rehman Malik this week lauded the Sindh government for empowering the most deserving in the society.
“The PPP through Sindh government has always commissioned projects that are sustainable and empowering for the most deserving in society. This will provide the much needed basic security that families need in order to prosper and generate further value for themselves and the economy,” he said.
Umar Rehman Malik added: “Pakistan’s total housing deficit stands at 10.3 million units. According to a recent report Pakistan’s urban housing shortage was 3.4 million housing units, while rural housing shortage was over 7 million housing units.”
He quoted PPP leader Aseefa Bhutto Zardari who mentioned that to date, 500,000 cash disbursements have been made and construction of over 100,000 houses completed under the Sindh People’s Housing For Flood Affectees (SPHFA).
She said a total of 2.1 million houses in 24 districts of #Sindh will be constructed with land titles; making it the greatest asset transfers of the history.
