Asif Ali Zardari will introduce political reconciliation: Umar Rehman Malik

Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Umar Rehman Malik said that Asif Ali Zardari will introduce political reconciliation as the President.

“With Asif Ali Zardari as President, the country will embark on a new era of political reconciliation and harmony, bolstering democracy and strengthening national institutions. This will pave the way for economic growth through increase in investor confidence and closer ties with the global community,” he said.

Umar Rehman Malik said Zardari’s past achievements as President include not only ensuring the completion of the government’s constitutional tenure, transferring all powers to the PM and Parliament, Constitutional Amendments, Aghaz Haqooq e Balochistan, renaming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, empowering GB and combatting the worst period of terrorism in the country but also enhancing Pakistan’s diplomatic and economic standing through alliances like the Friends of Pakistan and starting CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor).

“Let’s hope all parties, setting aside political differences, unite for the greater good of Pakistan and its people,” he added.

Previously, Zardari achieved the passage of the Eighteenth Amendment in 2010, which constitutionally reduced his presidential powers.
