China-funded mega solarization project inaugurated in Balochistan

Quetta: Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki inaugurated the China-funded mega solarization project this week, aimed at converting various public department buildings, including educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and civic departments, to renewable energy sources.

The China-funded project will provide clean, affordable, and uninterrupted power supply to the government departments.

With the support of the Chinea, the Balochistan government has completed the solarization of approximately 12 projects, including educational institutions, which have been equipped with modern solar power facilities.

During the ceremony, Chairman of the Friends of China Forum, Bayazeed Kasin, briefed attendees on the projects. Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki expressed appreciation for the support to the provincial government for the solarization and provision of basic facilities across the province.

He emphasized that China has consistently supported the development endeavors of Balochistan province, reflecting the deep-rooted and enduring friendship between China and Pakistan.

The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, also participated in the inaugural ceremony and shared his views through a video link held at the Chief Minister’s secretariat.

The solarization projects include the installation of solar panels in government schools, hospitals, and streetlights in various areas of Balochistan, aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and promoting sustainable development across the province.
