Punjab has given overwhelming response to Bilawal Bhutto: Umar Rehman Malik

Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Umar Rehman Malik said this week that Punjab had given overwhelming response to PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

“After the phenomenal response from the people of Punjab, it is even more evident that the people of Pakistan only see PPP as the antidote to our great nations’ current woes. Jiyalas (PPP workers) from all over the country are mobilising to bring Pakistan the change it deserves,” he said in a statement.

Umar Rehman Malik said PPP will form the next government with the power of people’s vote to continue the great legacy of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazi Bhutto.

He said Bhutto’s teaching and legacy was to serve the nation and lead Pakistan towards peace, prosperity, and progress.

“History is witness to the monumental achievements of the PPP. From making the country a nuclear power to its steadfast resolve to safeguard the constitution of this democratic nation, from the empowerment of women, to providing provincial autonomy, eradication of poverty, increase in salaries of employees and wages of labourers, historic initiatives in the fields of health, education and development, there are many feathers in PPPs cap,” he added.

Umar Rehman Malik said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s 10-Point Manifesto and Public Charter of Economy will finally bring the country and its people out of these ongoing crises.

“The dream of a developed and progressive Pakistan will be fulfilled under his vision, inherited from both Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto,” he maintained.

Earlier, a ddressing a public gathering in Lahore in connection with PPP’s campaign for the General Elections 2024, Bilawal said that the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) is now taking revenge from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), adding that the PPP is against any sort of political discrimination.

The PPP Chairman said that the politics of 1990s cannot be prevailed in 2024. He urged the youth not to ‘waste’ their votes and exercise their right for the best option.

Bilawal once again censured the ‘old’ politicians and said that the country cannot be left on mercy of those politicians who already had many opportunities to serve Pakistan but ‘failed’ miserably.

The PPP Chairman said these ‘old’ politicians had served as prime minister or chief minister for several times but did ‘nothing’ for the common men. “The likes of Showbaz and Wasim Akram Plus were imposed on Punjab,” he added.

Bilawal vowed to implement the party’s 10-point agenda against inflation, poverty and unemployment, if elected to power. “We will bury the politics of hatred and division,” he added.

He said that the PPP has been mocked for turning to Lahore for the election campaign. “I want to make it clear that Lahore is mine not someone else’”

Bilawal reiterated that Feb 8 general elections was a contest between PML-N and his party, urging the nation to vote for the ‘arrow’ in the upcoming polls

The former foreign minister said that PPP completely believes in “vote power” unlike other parties who are looking towards khalai makhlooq (aliens).

Bilawal noted that all parties except the PPP represent elites which provide relief to wealthy personalities and give pain to poor people. He vowed that his party would be a ‘sigh of relief’ for the common man if voted to power.
