PPP against political victimisation: Faisal Karim Kundi
Dera Ismail Khan: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former deputy speaker of National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi this week condemned the snatching of nomination papers from the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates.
Speaking at a press conference, he said the PPP was the party of martyrs, not the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF). He said the PPP was against political victimization under the garb of the May 9 attacks. He also condemned the manhandling of former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi
He recalled that when PPP leader Faryal Talpur was sent behind bars, Shah Mahmood Qureshi had termed her arrest as per the law. Kundi said that all the political parties should be provided a level-playing field. He said that the judiciary should not make decisions as per the wishes of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership.
He said that JUIF leader Maulana Fazlur Rahman was trying to escape from the election. He added that the Maulana knew his fate so he had decided to contest the election from Pishin, Balochistan. The PPP leader said that the Peshawar Electric Supply Company was carrying out 20 hours loadshedding in Dera Ismail Khan.
On the occasion, a group of counselors, including Sheikh Akmal and Irfan Baloch, announced joining the PPP along with their family members and supporters.
