Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians Secretary General Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari this week welcomed the upcoming elections in Pakistan on February 8, stressing the need for a level playing field for all political parties.
“The decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan sends a message to the caretaker government that every citizen of Pakistan should be allowed to contest the election,” he said while addressing the media after submitting the nomination papers for his younger brother Syed Sabtalul Haider Bokhari outside the DRO office in Islamabad.
Bokhari underscored that the PPP insists on a level playing field for all registered political parties.
He hoped that the Election Commission of Pakistan would ensure free, fair, and transparent elections, fulfilling its constitutional responsibility.
Following the submission of the nomination papers for Constituency 47 by Syed Sabtalul Haider, Bokhari mentioned, “I have submitted the nomination papers for NA-47.”
He clarified, “We have never contested elections with the help of anyone. We do not believe in gate number 4.”
Addressing the unresolved issues of educational institutions and health facilities in Islamabad, he said: “My target is to establish a women’s university in Islamabad.”
