PPP-HRC condemns alleged extrajudicial killings

Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Human Rights Cell this week strongly condemned the alleged extrajudicial killings of at least four individuals by during an operation in Sarkand, Sindh.
“The loss of life is deeply regrettable and must be thoroughly investigated by an independent body to ensure justice is served. While we acknowledge the government’s responsibility to maintain law and order in the province, we emphasise that this should never be used as an excuse for unlawful actions, such as extrajudicial killings. The PPP has always been committed to upholding human rights and opposes any form of violence or abuse by those in power,” PPP-HRC General Secretary Malaika Raza posted on X.
She added: “We urge the caretaker chief minister to take immediate notice of this incident and ensure that a fair and transparent investigation is conducted. The families of the victims, who are currently protesting in Sarkand, deserve justice and their grievances must be addressed promptly.”
She further said: “The PPP remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the rights and safety of all citizens, and we will continue to advocate for justice and accountability in cases of human rights violations.”
