Islamabad: Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono received Pakistan’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, in a courtesy meeting this week aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and defence domains.
During the engagement, both sides reviewed the current state of Pakistan–Indonesia relations and reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding collaboration in key strategic sectors. Discussions also touched on broader regional and global developments, with both parties underlining the importance of coordinated efforts to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development.
Foreign Minister Sugiono described Pakistan as a key and trusted partner for Indonesia, reiterating Jakarta’s intention to further deepen ties grounded in mutual trust and shared interests. He expressed confidence that the relationship would continue to progress through sustained diplomatic engagement and practical cooperation.
Ambassador Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s warm hospitality and constructive engagement, and conveyed Pakistan’s strong commitment to strengthening its long-standing friendship with Jakarta. He emphasized Islamabad’s desire to expand cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including trade, defence collaboration, and multilateral coordination.
Both sides agreed to maintain regular high-level exchanges and continue exploring new opportunities for cooperation, with a shared view that the partnership holds significant potential for further growth in the coming years.
