President should quit after SC verdict: Zahid Abbas Shah

Staff Writer

Frankfurt: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Germany President Zahid Abbad Shah this week said that President Arif Alvi had no moral authority to remain at the post after Supreme Court’s verdict to set aside a controversial ruling by then Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri on April 3 that dismissed the no-confidence motion against then-Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Zahid Abbad Shah said that after the Supreme Court decision, Imran Khan should be disqualified.

The PPP leader praised the Supreme Court’s decision for upholding the constitution. He claimed that the then-speaker and deputy speaker’s violation of their oaths in order to favour Imran Khan was a violation of the constitution.

Zahid Abbad Shah said the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief had been misleading the nation with one lie after the other.
