Rome: Senior Italian diplomat Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo this week appreciated the beauty of Afghanistan.
He tweeted a post of ‘History of Afghanistan’ which carried beautiful pictures from the war-torn country.
“If you think Afghanistan is just a dusty desert, prepare to be surprised by these images. Afghanistan’s breathtaking natural geography is one of the world’s most beautiful and diverse. In Afghanistan you can hike in lush green forests. Ski in cool snowy mountains. Take a ride in the desert sand dunes. Climb the ancient mountains. Swim in the mighty rivers. Gaze at the beautiful waterfalls. Stroll through the flower fields. Have a picnic in the green farms & a barbeque by the beach. Pick fresh fruit from the beautiful orchards,” read the series of tweets from History of Afghanistan.
It added: “Explore the bustling cities and escape to the quiet villages. Enjoy the rivers & lakes in a boat a ride. And much, much more. Afghanistan is one of the world’s most beautiful places.”
