Special prayers offered for late Rehman Malik

Islamabad: Special prayers were held here this week for the departed soul of former Interior Minister the late Senator Rehman Malik.
Friends, relatives and others attended the Khatam Sharif and Dua at his residence.
Prayers for special rewards to the soul of Rehman Malik were offered. Recitation of Holy Quran and Naat were offered.
Rehman Malik’s son Umer Rehman Malik also offered special prayers for the martyrs of Peshawar bomb blast.
He said the family will soon announce the Rehman Malik Foundation in the name of his late father.
“Rehman Malik Foundation will provide free treatment to poor and rare people,” said Umer Rehman Malik. Umer Rehman Malik and Ali Rehman Malik thanked the participants.
Malik is survived by his wife and two sons. He had tested positive for the virus in January, and had complained of breathing problems. Earlier this month, he was put on a ventilator.
Before his entry into national politics, Malik was with Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency as a special agent, and was elevated to the post of the Additional Director General in 1993.
From 2004 to 2007, he served as the chief of security of late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. In 2008, he was appointed Interior Minister by the then Prime Minister Yousaf Gilani.
