Albana Ferrarese celebrates women empowerment

Islamabad: Madamé Albana Ferrarese, wife of Italy’s Ambassador to Pakistan Andreas Ferrarese, is well-known to put in view the love she and her husband have for Pakistan.

The diplomatic couple is playing a key role to dramatically boost the Pakistan-Italy ties.

Aligning to that Madamé Albana Ferrarese, an established entrepreneur and true advocate for women empowerment, held a special gathering this week. It was to showcase a work of a Pakistani designer Sophiya Salim Khan who runs the brand shopsister.online. The event gave an inside to the women working in Pakistan.

Elaborating about her brand, Sophiya Salim Khan said, ‘Sister’ partners only with the best, ethically driven textile enterprises around Pakistan to ensure that “we source only the finest fabrics.”

“We are dedicated to reviving traditional handloom skills and bring about just labor practices without discriminating between women or men. With a percentage of the collection being sourced from rural areas of Pakistan, we aim to elevate the livelihood for the individuals behind the scenes, paying an ode to their skill and craftsmanship. We ensure our family of vendors are deeply intertwined within our brand vision every step of the way,” she remarked.

The star of the show, Madamé Albana Ferrarese, has made many local friends which have helped her understand the Pakistani nation.

Mrs Ferrarese was asked if she finds any similarity between the Pakistani and Italian women. To which she answered that many Pakistani women are very successful in their careers as well along with having the perfect home life. Both in Italy and Pakistan “we (the women) never ignore the fundamental values in life. Validating the friendship the two nations have.”
