Minorities have equal rights in Pakistan: Umar Rehman Malik

Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Umar Rehman Malik said this week that minorities had equal rights in Pakistan.

“Wishing a joyful and blessed #Diwali to Hindus around the world, especially my fellow Pakistanis. May this festival of light inspire kindness, unity, and interfaith harmony, guiding us all toward peace and prosperity. Warmest Diwali greetings to everyone,” he posted on X, greeting the Hindu community.

The PPP leader said that the constitution guarantees equal rights for the minority communities.

He said the PPP especially supports the rights of the minorities and acknowledged their contributions.

This week, the Hindu community celebrated the Diwali Festival (the festival of light) with religious fervour, traditional zeal and enthusiasm.

People across the country illuminated their worship places on the eve of Diwali Festival.

Diwali is a colourful festival involving lighting candles, worship, celebrations and prayers.
