Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Umar Rehman Malik this week highlighted ‘Parhega Sindh, Barhega Sindh’ initiative by the Sindh government.
“Under the “Parhega Sindh, Barhega Sindh” initiative, Sindh government and the PPP under leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has distributed 4,453,686 free book sets to students in public schools across the province,” the PPP leader said.
He expressed the confidence that the initiative will facilitate education for the children in the province.
The Sindh Textbook Board (STB) administration earlier completed the delivery of textbooks to government schools at the district and tehsil levels across the province, while visiting teams are reviewing the process of distribution of books to schools.
STB Chairman Abdul Aleem Lashari said that Chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah were making efforts to provide education to every child under the banner of “Sindh will learn and Sindh will grow.”
They were actively involved in the process of delivering free textbooks to every child, he added.
Lashari said that for the first time in history, the process of distributing textbooks on time had been completed transparently. A total of 4,453,686 sets of books were printed, including 24,351,475 individual books, and these have been delivered to the children on time.
They reviewed the ongoing work of providing free textbooks, and this process is still continuing. Wherever there is a greater need for books, we are delivering them. When the children of Sindh receive education, Sindh will develop further and move forward, he remarked.
