Pakistan, Italy pledge to deepen bilateral ties and parliamentary cooperation

Islamabad: The Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, emphasized on the long-standing cordial relations between Pakistan and Italy based on a shared commitment to global peace and sustainable development during a meeting with Italian Ambassador Marilina Armellin this week.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq called for strengthening political, cultural, economic, and people-to-people connections.
Discussions between the two sides encompassed a wide array of regional and global developments, highlighting the importance of continuous collaboration to advance bilateral relations positively and explore new avenues for engagement.
In particular, parliamentary cooperation was emphasized, with the speaker advocating for regular interaction through parliamentary friendship groups and the exchange of delegations to facilitate mutual learning and cooperation.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Ambassador Armellin reaffirmed Italy’s view of Pakistan as a crucial regional stakeholder and expressed eagerness to enhance ties across various sectors of mutual interest, emphasizing the significance of fostering parliamentary and cultural exchanges.
The meeting concluded with her desire to further strengthen linkages in all areas of mutual interest, in addition to fostering parliamentary and cultural exchanges.
