High Commissioner Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri announces establishment of Urdu language school in Canberra
Canberra: Pakistani High Commissioner to Australia Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri this week announced establishment of an Urdu language school in Canberra.
“Great news for Pakistani Diaspora in Canberra. For the first time URDU language school has been established & incorporated in ACT. This will not only help Pakistani families here but will also add to ACT’s multiculturalism. Thanks Tanveer Khan Saheb for all your efforts,” the envoy posted on X.
Around 103,120 Pakistani-born people are living in Australia, more than twice the number ten years ago.
This makes the Pakistani-born population the seventeenth largest migrant community in Australia, equivalent to 1.3 per cent of Australia’s overseas-born population and 0.4 per cent of Australia’s total population.
