PPP advocates women empowerment: Umar Rehman Malik

Islamabad: Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Digital Media head for Islamabad Umar Rehman Malik said this week that the PPP has always advocated and taken practical steps for the empowerment of women.
He said like his mother Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was trying to change the status of women.
“Since day one, PPP has done record legislative work as well as several administrative and economic initiatives to improve the lives of women in Pakistan. BISP and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program have lot of contribution towards Women Empowerment,” he posted on X.
Umar Rehman Malik said PPP Women Convention in Peshawar was a guideline for all political parties to encourage women’s participation in all spheres of society, including politics.
He said the PPP does not want any excuses for delay in the upcoming general elections and will accept the decision of the electorate on February 8 next year.
He mentioned that PPP Parliamentarians President Asif Ali Zardari had categorically stated that transparent and timely polls were the only solution to get rid of all the challenges facing the country.
Umar Rehman Malik also pointed out that the credibility of parliament would be nothing if free, fair and transparent elections were not conducted on time.
