Renowned French clothing brands utilizing textiles from Pakistan: Ambassador Nicolas Galey

Islamabad: Ambassador of France to Pakistan Nicolas Galey said this week that numerous renowned French clothing brands were utilizing textiles from Pakistan.

In an interview, Ambassador Galey emphasized the desire to increase collaboration between French companies and Pakistan, particularly highlighting the advantageous impact of Pakistan’s GSP+ status, especially in the textile industry.

During his visit to Karachi, Galey noted Peugeot as the sole European car manufacturer in Pakistan and underscored the potential for cooperation in agriculture, given Pakistan’s global standing as the fifth-largest milk producer.

Discussing bilateral ties, Galey highlighted the historical relationship between France and Pakistan, emphasizing ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural, economic, and social bonds.

Addressing educational aspects, he spoke about the increasing trend of Pakistani students choosing France for various disciplines, with language not posing a barrier, as many programs are offered in English.

Galey encouraged students to explore diverse subjects in French universities, particularly highlighting excellence in science.

He also mentioned the availability of scholarships and streamlined visa processes for accepted students and scholarship recipients.

The French ambassador expressed his appreciation for Pakistani cuisine, viewing it as part of his exploration and appreciation of the country.
