Chinese Ambassador meets JUI-F chief, views exchanged on CPEC projects

Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, this week conducted a meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, where they engaged in discussions regarding projects within the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

According to a statement released by the JUI-F’s media wing, the Chinese ambassador and his delegation delved into topics related to bilateral relations and matters associated with CPEC. They both agreed that the friendship between Pakistan and China has thrived under all circumstances.

The statement from JUI-F quoted the Chinese ambassador as expressing China’s interest in Pakistan utilizing Chinese technology in the field of agriculture, with an optimistic outlook towards making a positive impact on the region’s destiny through collaboration.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman urged the Chinese envoy to consider incorporating the agriculture sector, including irrigation, into the CPEC projects.

He expressed the desire for the establishment of industrial and economic zones in the regions of Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, along with the development of a major cargo airport in the southern districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong extended an invitation to Maulana Fazlur Rehman to visit China, which was accepted by the JUI-F chief.
