Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Sherry Rehman this week urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to announce the date and schedule for the general elections.

Sherry Rehman added: “The delay in the elections is tantamount to not holding the polls. There is still uncertainty about the election’s timing.’|

The former climate minister was of the view that all political parties should have access to the level-playing field.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is meanwhile expected to visit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to speed up the election campaign.

Bilawal will continue to carry out political activities in the province for up to five days in the province, according to the sources. The key political personalities from KP are likely to join the PPP ahead of the elections.

Last week, Bilawal convened meetings with the party leaders in Islamabad to deliberate on the current political landscape of the country.
