Islamabad: Nicolas Galey French Ambassador to Pakistan has said since taking office in early 2022, he had worked tirelessly with his team and Pakistani partners to strengthen a bilateral relationship that he was happy to describe as friendly, diverse and promising.
In his message on the occasion of the National Day of France Ambassador Galey said this relationship is above all politics mentioning the high-level contacts over the past year between Prime Minister Sharif and President Macron: in September 2022 at the UN General Assembly in New York, where the French President wished to show France’s full solidarity with Pakistan after the tragic floods during the summer, and last month in Paris at the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact, our two leaders spoke in support of a fairer and more efficient financial system capable of benefiting both to development and the protection of our planet.
‘The relationship of trust was also reflected in the bilateral consultations held last February in Paris between the top officials of both foreign ministries. In the meeting, we agreed on a roadmap which opens up prospects for coopera- tion in various fields (political, economic, agricultural, etc.). My priority is to ensure, with our Pakistani partners, it is concrete for the benefit of the Pakistanis and France- Pakistan friendship’, he added.
