Ambassador Adam Tugio highlights Indonesia aims to cut emissions by 358m tons of CO2e

Islamabad: Indonesia is committed to reducing emissions in the energy sector by 358m tons of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2030, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has said.

Efforts to reduce the carbon emissions in the energy sector are made through the application of energy efficiency, increased use of renewable energy, application of clean energy technology for power generation, use of low-carbon fuels, and post-mining reclamation.

He said that the government has demonstrated this commitment by issuing Indonesia’s “Long-Term Strategy for Low Carbon and Climate Resilience 2050” as a form of commitment to the Paris Agreement
