Dar assures US of govt’s commitment to complete IMF program

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar this week assured the US of the government’s commitment to complete the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program, Finance Division said.
Andrew Schofer, Charge’d Affaires of the Embassy of United States of America called on Mohammad Ishaq Dar, at Finance Division.
The Finance Minister apprised him of the economy of the country and discussed the current challenges being faced by the country.
He further communicated about the difficult policy decisions recently being taken by the government with the aim of stabilizing the economy and then taking the economy on an upward curve ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth.
Andrew Schofer voiced his confidence in the policies and programs of the government of Pakistan for the economic stability of the country and extended his support to advance the existing economic and trade relations between both countries.
Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar thanked the US Charge’d Affaires and reiterated the desire of the government to further expand bilateral trade and investment ties with the US.
