CG Japan hosts reception to commemorate 63rd birthday of Emperor Naruhito

Karachi: Mr. and Mrs. ODAGIRI Toshio, Consul-General of Japan in Karachi, hosted a National Day Reception this week to commemorate the 63 rd birthday of His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito.

Around 600 guests from all walks of life joined the event, including diplomats, prominent politicians, and government officials, leading businessmen, academic and literary personalities.

Chief Guest of the event Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori and Sindh Energy Minister, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh also graced the occasion. Shaikh felicitated the Japanese people on their National Day.

He appreciated the support extended by the Government of Japan in the aftermath of floods and vowed to work together for post disaster rehabilitation.In his address, Consul General of Japan in Karachi, Mr. ODAGIRI, welcomed guests and expressed his pleasure on hosting his first National Day reception in Karachi. He talked about the historical significance of bilateral ties between Japan and Pakistan and touched upon the 77 million US$ assistance pledged by Government of Japan for post flood recovery and rehabilitation.

Consul General reiterated Japan’s commitment to the further strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries.The event was concluded with ceremonial cake cutting after which guests were served with scrumptious dinner featuring live sushi, Japanese and Pakistani cuisines.
