Ambassador Adam Tugio delighted as Bali jumps up the popularity list

Islamabad: Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan Ambassador Adam Tugio this week expressed delight that Bali was seen as the second most popular destination in world for 2023 by the TripAdvisor.

The envoy said Bali was also very popular among the Pakistani tourists. “Bali is something every Pakistani knows,” he mentioned.

Bali ranked second – only behind Dubai, which has topped the list for two years in a row – in TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice for the top 25 popular destinations

“[Bali is] a living postcard, an Indonesian paradise that feels like a fantasy,” wrote TripAdvisor on their website.

In 2022, Bali placed fourth on the list, meaning the island jumped two places this year. Bali was followed by London, Rome, Paris, Cancun, Crete, and Marrakech.

Interestingly, Bali is the only Southeast Asian tourism destination in the top 10, with Phuket and Hanoi placing 16th and 17th, respectively.

Bali’s eastern neighbor Lombok, meanwhile, placed 5th on the Traveler’s Choice top 25 nature destinations list.

“If it were located anywhere else in the world, Lombok would be on everyone’s bucket list,” said the website.

“But because it’s just east of Bali, fewer people have heard of its secluded coves, endless string of cream-colored beaches, and waterfalls.”
