Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese urges businesspersons to work together for enhanced economic ties between Italy, Pakistan

Islamabad: Italy’s Ambassador to Pakistan Andreas Ferrarese this week urged Pakistani and Italian businesspersons to join hands and work together to enhance economic ties between Italy and Pakistan.
In a meeting with Pakistani businesspersons, the Ambassador said his country gave utmost importance to relations with Pakistan and all-out efforts would be made to boost economic ties.
He mentioned the boost in economic ties in the recent years which was beneficial for both Pakistan and Italy.
Italy recently became the seventh billion-dollar export country for Pakistan in the world during FY 2021-22 with a record growth of export volume to $1.146 billion, while the remittances from Italy were also on the path to touch billion dollars soon with a total of $857 million during the year.
This phenomenal growth in exports and remittances comes at a time when European economies in general and Italian economy in particular is slowing down and facing multiple challenges due to Ukraine war.
