Islamabad: Pakistan said this week that no amount of propaganda could shake the two countries’ unbreakable friendship.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch told journalists at a Year-End Review briefing that China is Pakistan’s close friend and that ties with Beijing are a permanent feature of foreign policy. “Pakistan and China are close friends and partners and we will make sure that no amount of propaganda impacts the iron-clad friendship between Pakistan and China,” she contended.

According to the spokesperson, Pakistan has an increased engagement policy with its close partners and friends.

She reaffirmed Pakistan’s historic alliances with China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the Islamic world. She stated that these relationships were founded on mutual trust and friendship and were distinguished by a long history of robust dialogue and bilateral visits.

“Pakistan continues to pursue a policy of peaceful neighborhood with all South Asian countries based on mutual respect and sovereign equality,” she said.
