Senator Rehman Malik always worked for national unity: Umar Rehman Malik

Islamabad: Finance expert Umar Rehman Malik said this week that his father, the late Senator Rehman Malik, always worked for national unity.
“As a nation we should strongly refrain from slandering our Army. The armed forces have always been the bedrock of national security and a symbol of pride,” he tweeted.
Umar Rehman Malik said Pakistan was passing through a unprecedented and critical period in its history, demands national unity and collective wisdom to come out of it.
“In decades-long war against terrorism/enemies, Pak Army has made countless sacrifices for protection of the country & its people,” he said in the series of tweets.
Umar Rehman Malik’s father Senator Rehman Malik – a former Interior Minister – passed away earlier this year due to coronavirus-related complications at 70.
Senator Malik had a long career as a politician and held many portfolios, including his term as interior minister from 2008 to 2013. He was also a recipient of the Sitara-e-Shujaat for his services in the Federal Investigation Agency and the Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
