China-made buses start commuting in Karachi

Karachi: China-made buses started commuting on the second route of Peoples Bus Service in Karachi from Indus Hospital, Korangi Crossing, to North Karachi on July 1.
Sindh Information and Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced last night that Peoples Bus Service buses will begin commuting on July 1 morning and the buses will ply via Nagan Chowrangi, Shafiq Morr, Sohrab Goth, Gulshan Chowrangi, NIPA Chowrangi, Johar Morr, COD, Drigg Road Station, Colony Gate, Shah Faisal Colony, Singer Chowrangi and Landhi.
On June 27, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the Peoples Bus Service in Karachi to facilitate the people with modern transport.
Bilawal had a ride on the bus himself as well to review the facilities. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Sharjeel Inam Memon, and other members of the provincial cabinet were also present at the launching ceremony.
Seven routes have been marked and at least 240 service buses will start to run phase-wise.
