Islamabad: China’s support will open new avenues of progress and prosperity for the Muslim World, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Representative for Interfaith Harmony and Middle East Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said last week.
Speaking at a news conference here, he remarked that Pakistan’s relationship with China has been further strengthened during the incumbent government’s period.
He mentioned that participation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Council of Foreign Ministers (OIC-CFM) summit will benefit the Muslim world.
“It will open new avenues of progress and prosperity for the Muslim World. China’s participation in the event (OIC-CFM meeting) is significant,” he maintained.
He contended that the Chinese Foreign Minister’s presence both in OIC-CFM moot and Pakistan Day Parade was evidence of strong bonds between the two all-weather friends.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi thanked China for participating positively in the OIC-CFM meeting.
Pakistan had invited Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi as a special guest for the two-day (March 22-23) OIC-CFM meeting, demonstrating the closeness between the two all-weather friends.
The Chinese FM also held meetings with President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, FM Qureshi and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on the sidelines. In the bilateral meetings, the two sides agreed to enhance the cooperation further.
